Inkjet Cartridges in the UK HP Has Gone Green

Inkjet Cartridges and their effects on the environment have been a topic of interest lately. Inkjet cartridges seem to be destined for landfills right after they run out of ink. One company is trying to change that. Hewlett-Packard announced in 2008 that it will use recycled plastic to produce inkjet cartridges. Recycled materials means less raw products used, and less discarded plastic that end up in landfills. But HP’s recycled ink cartridges are very different from remanufactured ones. HP’s recycled cartridges create new ones from existing materials. But remanufactured ones simply use empty original cartridges and fill them up with ink. HP’s efforts serve as a good example of an efficient recycling model.
